Who Are the Muskogee Shutterbugs?
Muskogee Shutterbug Club is a friendly group of professional and amateur photographers who have joined forces to promote, learn and experiment in photography.
Our regular meeting place is at the Muskogee Public Library. At 6:30 PM we start a teaching session about some aspect of photography, at 7 PM we have our monthly business meeting and then review the previous month’s photos that were submitted by the members to be judged.
The Judge is not a member of our club and is selected by the competition Chairperson. We are divided into 2 Classes, A and B; Class B is where most new members start out. Class A is for the professional photographers and those that have shown proficiency in Photography during the previous year and won enough points to qualify moving up from Class B. Each month has an ‘Open Competition’ for both classes, you may submit two photos of your choosing to any of three categories; General, Nature or Photojournalism. You may also submit 3 Slides, there are no categories for slides. Five times a year we have a ‘Special Competition’, the subject matter is chosen in December and those photos must be taken during the present year.
All dues paying members may submit pictures for competition. Our fiscal year runs from December to November with dues prorated after June. Junior Membership (Age 18 and Younger) $15.00 Single Membership $20 Family Membership $30.
